New Testament Baptist Church
Dear Pastors, Churches and Christian Friends:
Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope this letter finds you faithfully serving the One Who loved us and gave Himself for our sins.It is with great joy that I come to you on behalf of a new ministry that we have begun here at New Testament Baptist Church. I have had a burden for many years to be able to have a ministry that reaches out to kids who have been forsaken or are in trouble. For about a year I have had the honor of going to a juvenile detention center and preaching there to the young people. I have seen boys and girls ranging in ages from 11 to 17 that are there for drugs or small crimes. One thing about 90% of them have in common is that they don’t have a father at home. I have seen some fruit from this ministry and know that some of the young people have come to know Christ. However, I can only do so much as I cannot be there for these young people because I have a church to pastor as well. This brings me to the main purpose of this letter.I have been hoping and praying for a way to extend this ministry beyond the walls of the detention center. As I have been involved in this ministry for the last year and wanting to do more, I have also been watching Nathan and Mishal Long in their journey of adopting their 4 children. They seemed to have such a burden to reach out and minister to children that need someone to step in and be there for them. Nathan expressed his desire to step down from pastoring and be involved in a ministry that reaches out to the fatherless and children who are hurting. After fasting and prayer we were certain that the Lord had seemed to have brought us together to serve Him in this manner.Nathan and Mishal are now members of New Testament Baptist Church and Nathan is going to be our missionary to the fatherless. There is such a great need for this type of ministry and there is plenty of work to keep a man and woman busy full time. However, our church is not able at this time to support Nathan on a full-time basis. We are giving him what we can at this time, and we are hoping that others will join us. We know that we are embarking on new territory and realize that there will be a lot to learn along the way. We are convinced though that this is the direction the Lord would have us to go in and we are certain that He will open the way before us. We are also convinced that the Lord has gifted Nathan and Mishal with a heart that is fit for this type of ministry. Our first goal is to gain support for Nathan. He will continue living in Kentucky for one year and visit churches in order to present the ministry and gain support. After one year he will move up here to northeast Ohio to begin the ministry. If you would like to have Nathan come and present the work to your church then please contact him. Any support that you can faithfully give him would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions you can contact Nathan at: 210-823-7231 or email me at: Thank you and please remember to pray for this ministry. Please send any support to New Testament Baptist Church, P.O. Box 840, Burton, OH. 44021 and put Children of our Lord (COOL) in the memo line.
A Servant for the Glory of Christ,
